Objectives of the Course (1) To understand the methods and tools employed by philosophy.
(2) To understand tools used to formulate philosophical arguments
(3) To grasp tools used in argument assessment and criticism
(4) To get familiar with the criticisms of standard methods of philosophy.
(5) To learn the basics of publication ethics.
(6) To learn how to do literature review
Course Content This course aims to build a solid intellectual foundation to engage effectively in practice of philosophy. The course begins with basics of philosophical argumentation, then we move to discuss the important tools for assessment and criticism, the limits of argumentation and some of the radical critiques of standard philosophical methodology. We also discuss the basis of publishing ethics and literature review methods.
