Objectives of the Course This course will provide an opportunity for participants to establish and advance their understanding of research through critical exploration of research language, ethics, and approaches. The course also discusses the role of theory and hypothesis testing in research and critical analysis of published research. The course introduces the language of research, ethical principles and challenges, and the elements of the research process within quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches.
Course Content Topics will include the nature and purposes of research, planning and conducting research, assessing and evaluating research, sampling, research design, measurement and methods of data collection, and ethical considerations.
