Objectives of the Course
|
The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire fundamental knowledge about the psychological structure and functioning of the human being, particularly within the framework of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to gain personal awareness regarding the role of a psychotherapist, and to develop basic skills for establishing a psychotherapeutic relationship. Furthermore, students will gain the ability to ask appropriate questions and formulate the responses meaningfully, and to develop the competence to make appropriate interventions in the therapeutic process.

Course Content
|
Throughout the course, the theoretical foundation necessary for a good psychotherapy interview is addressed; clinical practice and supervision studies appropriate to this foundation are carried out. In this context, the course content consists of the following topics:
Theoretical foundations of cognitive behavioral therapy
Components of the therapeutic relationship and its clinical significance
Therapist stance, boundaries and professional responsibility
Clinical interview and structuring the first session
CBT-based case conceptualization
Intervention planning and clinical decision-making
Case presentations and supervision
Clinical feedback and reflective evaluation

Your written assignments and the consistency of your in-class performance will be evaluated together. I expect all assignments to be in Times New Roman 12 point font with 1.5 line spacing. Assignments that do not comply with these formatting rules will be considered invalid. Excessively low or high word counts will result in a deduction from your score. After the exam, if your performance does not meet your expectations, do not request a retake or a new assignment. Emails regarding the exam will not be answered. Requests to improve your grade or obtain additional points (for scholarships, achieving a degree, etc.) will not be considered.
