Objectives of the Course • As a clinical psychologist to learn the names and ingredients of drugs used in treatment of child and adolescent psychiatric disorder.
• To learn the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of these drugs.
• To comprehend which drug help in the treatment of which diseases and which symptoms of psyhopathology.
• To have information about side effects of these drugs.
• Eliminating the misinformation about medical treatment and acquiring the necessary equipment to guide the families correctly.
• Develop awareness of ethics in medical treatment and drug research.
Course Content This course covers the basic issues that a clinical psychologist should know about the medication of psychiatric diseases. The basics of psychopharmacology, different treatment approaches according to different types of psychopathology, rational drug utilization, drug research and medical treatment ethics and side effects of psychiatric drugs are among these main topics. In addition, it covers the principles of psychopharmacological treatment based on case examples and it is planned to make case discussions besides theoretical knowledge
