Objectives of the Course This course will develop the language proficiency required to communicate effectively in Spanish at level B1 (CEFR Independent User). It will develop and strengthen students’ proficiency in the Spanish language as well as to increase their cultural understanding. Throughout the course, the students will enhance their fluency, accuracy, and focus on the communication. This level will also expand students’ vocabulary.
The course will cover the topics below:
• Talking about habits in the past and present
• Talking about changes that have occurred in the past
• Indicating that something is prohibited and compulsory
• Expressing oneself impersonally
• Evaluating, asking for and giving an opinion
• Telling and reacting to an anecdote
• Expressing cause and effect
• Expressing one’s desires, complaints and needs
• Talking about future acts and situations. Formulating a hypothesis.
• Expressing one’s interests and feelings
• Summarising another’s response and transmitting information, questions and one’s intention
• Describing objects and talking about their utility; asking for and evaluating them
• Expressing one’s opinion regarding acts and behaviour
• Making hypotheses about the past and present
• Talking about the future in relation to certain conditions being met
