Objectives of the Course This course builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired in Basic Greek I. It aims to further develop students’ understanding of basic grammar, vocabulary, and reading skills in Ancient Greek. In particular, it enables students in the field of History to engage directly with ancient texts and gain fundamental reading and comprehension skills.
Course Content This course builds upon the foundations of Basic Greek I. It aims to strengthen students’ reading, translation, and comprehension skills in Ancient Greek. Throughout the semester, grammatical knowledge is reinforced through exercises and short texts, leading to guided readings from original sources by the end of the course.
Course Methods and Techniques The course is conducted through lectures, practical exercises, reading and translation activities. Students are encouraged to participate actively, and the learning process is supported through in-class discussions.
