Objectives of the Course The aim of this course is to develop students’ communication skills in French at an intermediate level. Students learn to express themselves more fluently and accurately in personal, social, academic, and professional contexts. The course enables students to understand different types of texts, express opinions, give reasons for their ideas, and engage in natural communication on everyday topics. In addition, the course aims to enhance students’ cultural awareness of French culture and the Francophone world.
Course Content This course aims to develop students’ ability to communicate independently in French. Students learn to express their experiences, opinions, and emotions more fluently and accurately. Through the use of newspaper articles, short stories, dialogues, and audiovisual materials, the course balances the development of reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills. Focus is given to vocabulary and grammatical structures related to everyday life, travel, education, work, culture, and social issues. Students also practice communicative functions such as exchanging ideas, giving opinions, making suggestions, comparing, and providing justifications through interactive activities.
Course Methods and Techniques The course is conducted based on the communicative approach, emphasizing active and practical use of the language. Interactive and task-based teaching methods are employed to help students use French effectively in real-life situations.

The following methods and techniques are used in instruction:

Lecture and demonstration,

Question-and-answer and discussion techniques,

Role-playing, pair and group work,

Listening and reading comprehension activities,

Use of audiovisual materials (videos, dialogue recordings, short texts),

Online-supported exercises,

Communication tasks based on real-life situations.
