Objectives of the Course Communicating and exchanging information about familiar topics using phrases and sentences in Arabic
Course Content This is an intensive Arabic language course which starts from the Intermediate-low and reaches the intermediate high level. Topics handled in this course are related to everyday life issues, it trains students to deal with some complicated situations (in the market, school, street, communications etc). Students learn how to connect long sentences to produce verbally and written paragraphs in the past, present and future tenses, and with topics including but not limited to description and comparison.

Course Notes Attendance-Participation
Students should keep a consistent attendance.
If the student is 10 minutes late s/he will be considered absent
The students are expected to use their absence right in high emergency situations.
The maximum number of medical reports is 2 reports.
Opening the camera and being prepared for online classes will be part of the participation assessment.
Re-Grading
The student can ask for re-grading by applying formally to Student Affairs.
Use of Mobile Devices and Laptops
Not allowed, except when the teacher asks students to use it for a learning purpose.

Academic Integrity
If the teacher figures out that the student is submitting an assignment that belongs to someone else, or was accomplished by someone else, the student will get zero for this assignment.
If the student submits for the second time an assignment that belongs to someone else, or was accomplished by someone else, s/he will be sent to a disciplinary committee.
If the student is caught cheating in the exam s/he will get zero, and will be sent to a disciplinary committee.
Assignments
The student is going to submit 5 basic weekly assignments, 3 homework and 2 presentations
All the assignments are going to be assigned on Canvas at the beginning of the semester.
The student cannot submit the assignment after the due date.
The assignment that is not submitted by the due date will be scored zero (0).
The answer key will be provided to students after the due date of submitting the assignment immediately.
The student can submit the assignment after the due date if he proved that he had a medical situation that prevented him from completing the required assignment.
The student shall provide a justification and a medical report within 2 days after missing the due date, otherwise the justification and the medical report will be considered void.
Language Certificate
The student needs to enter a placement test in case s/he needs a formal level certificate.
