Objectives of the Course This course explores the history and historiography of the seventeenth to nineteenth century Ottoman Empire.
Course Content It narrates the political, military, and socio-cultural developments of these centuries that the modern historians called "the middle period of the Ottomans." In addition to introducing the important facts and turning points of this period, it also helps students to gain insights into the old and new debates in modern historiography.
