Dersin Amacı
|
In this course, students learn about theories and measurements of personality including psychoanalytic, humanistic, cognitive, trait, behaviouristic, biological, evalutionary approaches to personality. In addition, this course also covers theories and measurement of intelligence and the history of studies in the intelligence. Students will examine how these theories in personality and intelligience are applied in daily life of individuals in such topics as optimism, irrational beliefs, embarrassment, interpersonal relationships, social attitudes among others. The aim of this course is to • Expose students to main theories in personality and intelligence • To learn about the history, development and measurement of perosnality and intelligence • motivate students to chose an interest area from the course content and present a topic in the classroom • work collaboratively on developing a personality scale based on lexial approach • present the ways in which theories in personality and intelligence is used in the interpretations of daily social and individual events.
